Choosing the Right Replacement Bulb for Your E-Bike

When replacing a bulb on your e-bike, it is crucial to use one with the exact same voltage rating to ensure proper function and safety. Follow these steps to find the correct replacement bulb:

  1. Identify the Bulb Specifications:

    • Remove the existing bulb and read the numbers printed on it or stamped into the metal base. These numbers will indicate the exact replacement bulb needed.
  2. Voltage Compatibility:

    • For 48-volt e-bikes, the bulbs are typically rated at 55V/56V or 12V.
    • E-bikes with 60 volts or higher use 12V bulbs due to the presence of a voltage reducer, which steps down the higher voltage to 12 volts.
  3. Bulb Types and Functions:

    • Headlight and Taillight Bulbs: These bulbs feature two filaments and two contacts on the base, serving dual purposes. Headlights provide both high and low beams, while taillights function as running lights and brake lights.
    • Turn Signal Bulbs: These bulbs generally have a single filament as they are solely used for signaling.
