Frequently Asked Questions

The range of your e-bike can vary quite a bit, depending on a few key factors.

How you ride matters—whether you like to accelerate quickly, coast to a stop, or use regenerative braking.

Your weight, any cargo or passengers, and the type of terrain, like hills or off-road paths, also play a big role.

Because of these factors, we give you a range estimate, like 50-70 km per charge, instead of a fixed number like 70 km. A fixed number could be misleading.

Keep in mind, many big e-bike companies, like Daymak and Emmo, base their maximum range on very light riders in perfect conditions, which can inflate the numbers.

At Evcustom, we base our estimates on what our average customers experience, so you get a realistic idea of what to expect.

Yes, we do!

All e-transfers should be sent to help@evcustom.ca.

Please note, depending on your bank, e-transfers might not be instant. To avoid any issues, we recommend setting up a security question and sending the e-transfer ahead of time.

Share the answer with us upon delivery.

Important: We can’t hand over the keys if the e-transfer is still pending and hasn’t shown up in our email.

Yes, we have a custom trailer for e-bike deliveries.

Note: For long-distance deliveries, we require a deposit for the delivery costs upfront. Unfortunately, we had to implement this rule due to past experiences.

No, you don’t need a license or insurance to ride an e-bike.

Just make sure you’re wearing a DOT-approved motorcycle or bicycle helmet, and you must be at least 16 years old.

E-bikes aren’t considered motor vehicles under the Highway Traffic Act, so you can still ride even if your license is suspended.

Under the Highway Traffic Act, e-bikes are limited to a max speed of 32kph.

But on trails and pathways, this rule doesn’t apply. So, you can legally go faster in those areas.

We won’t sell any e-bikes that exceed 32kph unless you sign a liability waiver.

This waiver confirms that the e-bike is meant for off-road use only and is being sold as an off-road vehicle.

Our bikes are priced to reflect the value we offer.

When you buy from us, you get a warranty, after-sale support, and the peace of mind that your bike has been tuned and inspected by a master technician.

The most common issue with e-bikes is the battery. The bike you found likely uses a lead-acid battery, which could need an expensive replacement soon.

Plus, you might be buying a bike with hidden issues. Once you purchase, the seller won’t help with any problems, which could end up costing you more than what seemed like a "good deal."

We do trade-in deals for e-bikes only.

Sorry, but we can’t accept your Xbox or iPhone as payment or trade.

Yes, we can repair all makes and models of e-bikes.

If your bike needs a specialized part that we don't have in stock, we can order it from one of our suppliers.

While lithium batteries have a higher upfront cost than lead-acid, they can last up to four times longer. So, in the long run, they’re a better investment.

We don’t cut corners on our lithium batteries. We use only genuine cells from reputable manufacturers, making our batteries extremely safe.

Some major e-bike brands offer lithium batteries that are expensive but made with cheap Chinese cells, which could pose a fire risk. They focus on recurring revenue from frequent battery replacements.

We’re different. We provide the highest value by using top-quality batteries that aren’t overpriced.
